Project overview
This representative case study outlines how an office network can be assessed and redesigned when wireless coverage, device growth, and limited visibility begin to affect daily work. It does not identify a customer or claim measured customer outcomes.
Challenges
- Wireless coverage and roaming behavior vary across work areas.
- Business, guest, and infrastructure traffic share unclear boundaries.
- Existing switches, cabling, and firewall policies are not fully documented.
- Changes must be introduced without unnecessary disruption to operations.
Solution
The proposed work starts with a site survey, cable and equipment audit, traffic review, and stakeholder interviews. The design defines switching capacity, VLAN segmentation, Wi-Fi coverage, guest access, firewall policy, VPN, internet resilience, monitoring, and labeling. Configuration and staging are completed before a controlled implementation, followed by coverage testing, failover checks, diagrams, and handover documentation.
